Mini-Farm

How does the mini farm work?

The mini farm consists of two sections that “work together”; they are the breeding farm section and the living farm section. Each section has a dimension of 2.5 meters in length, 2 meters in height, and 80 centimeters in width.

The breeding farm is divided in two segments where two fully-grown female rabbits can nest. The nest area is equipped with specially designed heaters and vents that allow excellent air circulation and provide warmth during cold weather. One female rabbit can produce up to 10 rabbits, which can grow with her until they reach 6 lb. Once the juvenile rabbits reach 6 lb, they will be transferred to the living farm to grow as their fur and meat become more valuable.

The living farm consists of four segments; this section is where growing rabbits will settle until they reach 10 to 14lbs in roughly 50 days. Each mini farm can hold a maximum of 30 fully-grown rabbits.

Everything that the rabbits need are provided for including:

  • A compartment for water with specially-designed canister that keeps water fresh and away from microbes
  • A compartment to store hay, which the rabbits needs in order to promote excellent digestive processing
  • Feeding compartment to store pellets and other foodstuff

Maintenance

GetRabbit Mini farms are easy to maintain and they do not need to be chemically disinfected periodically. Because the design of these mini farms allows air to circulate, it does not produce foul odor and the overall environment are clean, not congested.

The wooden paneled cage floor has ridges that get rid of excrements while effectively maintaining sanitary conditions. Rabbits are absolutely protected from excrements, respiratory problems and diseases because of the hygienic environment hence; breeders can save money on vaccines and costly maintenance.

Production

During the first 5 months, the number of rabbits may increase by up to five times! Each farm can produce roughly 300 kg. of high quality rabbit meat in the first 12 months. These farms can be installed virtually anywhere without producing offensive smell. An individual can easily maintain up to 100 of these mini farms.

Rabbits consume a wide variety of vegetables, grass, alfalfa, and even kitchen wastes. Their sources of food are often low in price, which means you get more profits with very little investment. One of the primary reason why rabbit meat is regarded as sustainable is because they scavenge foodstuff that are no longer useful for humans. There is no need to buy costly feeds because you can simply feed them kitchen scraps.

Three Reasons Why GetRabbit Mini Farms Are Better Than Industrial Rabbit Cages

Rabbits can be particularly sensitive and prone to diseases if not taken care of properly and for people who are raising rabbits; this could mean losing significant amount of money on your business. One of the most basic aspects of rabbit farming that all breeders need to take into consideration is the type of rabbit housing you will use once you start your own farm.

A good rabbit cage can make all the differences!

Typically, would-be farmers have only three housing choices; they could use cages, hutches or runs. Unfortunately, most cages and hutches are not fit for rabbit farming because they are cramped and air does not circulate well. Places that are congested and have poor ventilation are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and if you are not careful, you could stand to losing thousands of dollars maintaining these types of housing alone. Eventually, poor living condition could spell the end for your business.

In order to thrive, rabbits need to live in an environment free from diseases and airborne bacteria. Investing in high quality rabbit housing is crucial to the success of your business. This is the foundation behind GetRabbit mini farms’ design and construction.

In this article, we will discuss why GetRabbit mini farms are the better option as opposed to industrial cages or hutches.

1. Durability

When it comes to rabbit farming, cheaper is not always better. Many farmers simply choose cheap and poorly designed hutches because they think all rabbit housing is the same. They do not bother checking out how each hutch is designs or if the construction is made with high quality materials simply because they do not want to spend money. Unfortunately, you could end up spending more than saving because cheaper cages can easily break down and fall apart. You are likely to spend most of your money repairing and replacing hutches. To make matters worse, typical hutches tend to use wires that will erode in time and cause injuries to the animals as the whole thing falls apart.

GetRabbit mini farms are constructed using the best materials and with high quality standard in mind. This is to ensure that customer will have less time worrying about maintenance and more time getting profits from their business.

2. Protection

The problem with most cages is that since they are prone to breaking down, they do not provide the level of protection that the animals need. Keep in mind that in the wild, rabbits are prey animals. Their survival depends largely on their instinct to flee from predators. Even while they are kept in cages, they will still have these instincts and seeing predators can cause stress on the animal. If a cage is not strong enough to protect your rabbits from such predators, you could end up losing a significant number of rabbits in one night.

GetRabbit mini farms are made not only to breed but also to protect rabbits from any predators. Each rabbit house is sturdy enough to withstand cold and hot weather and secure enough to protect them from predatory creatures. You can have peace of mind knowing that your rabbits have everything they need in these mini farms.

3. Comfort

Good rabbit housing must have excellent ventilation and big enough space for rabbits to roam. Unfortunately, most cages come in square boxes that offer neither ventilation nor extra spaces. These cages are not only detrimental to your rabbits’ health; they could also cause injuries to the animal because of the poor design. To cite an example, most cages are made with wires and the flooring is made with the same material. It is very easy for rabbits to get their feet tangled up in these types of cages. This will cause injuries and with the poor airflow mixed with bacteria from their excrements, they could be vulnerable to diseases.

The bottom line is, if you want to ensure that the welfare, safety and overall health is taken care of, you need to make smart choices. Poorly designed and unsanitary environment could be detrimental to both the animals and your business. Know that the success of your business will depend largely on the conditions that the animals live in which is why high quality rabbit housing, such as GetRabbit mini farms, should be your top priority.
